The other day, I was driving and I heard this song. It's by Jason Gray and it's called I am New. I was so moved. I came home and immediately searched for it on the internet. I was going to share just the video with you, but then I found this on You Tube and as I listened to his explanation of the song, I was moved because he pegged me. He spoke about many of my insecurities, my shortcomings, my disbelief. God has a name waiting for us and too often we don't allow him to change our name! I did this for years. I spoke harshness and contempt into my own life and my own identity, instead of allowing the God of the Universe to speak his peace and love and grace into my life. Today, I am beginning to allow Him to call me beautiful, to call me forgiven, accepted, loved...just listen...tell me what you think. How does it make you feel???
I don't know about you, but music has always spoke to my soul. It has always pierced the deepest caverns in the depths of who I am. It's not so surprising that I would spend hours picking songs to dance to, songs that spoke to me. The music playing when well chosen seemed to form a security blanket, a safe place. It seemed to make everything feel okay for the moment. I once heard it said that music is the voice of the soul! That's so true. The other day, I was driving and I heard this song.
